Lake Kivu is situated on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, within the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. It flows into the Ruzizi River, which further travels southwards into Lake Tanganyika. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility and scenic beauty of Lake Kivu during a 2-night stay. Explore the lake by taking a boat ride to nearby islands, including Napoleon Island (named for its resemblance to Napoleon's hat), Mbabara Island where coffee and macadamia nuts thrive, and the majestic Peace Island, offering a peaceful and picturesque experience.
