Take a Relaxing Stroll Underwater♪ Admission Ticket for Miyakojima Underwater Park
Explore a unique underwater world at Miyakojima Underwater Park, where you can observe fish swimming naturally at depths of 3 to 5 meters—all while staying in your everyday clothes. From the ocean floor, you'll witness a breathtaking view normally only seen by divers. The facility is accessible to all, featuring a lift for children, the elderly, and wheelchair users, making it easy to immerse yourself in this extraordinary experience.
With over 140 species of fish confirmed, you'll typically encounter around 60 species, varying by season and time of day. You might even spot a sea turtle, as they appear about 30 times a year! Visibility ranges from 15 to 20 meters in summer and 20 to 25 meters in winter, extending up to 40 meters on clear days, offering spectacular underwater views.
The park's entrance building, designed with a turtle shell motif, houses the front desk and exhibition lobby, showcasing the rich marine biodiversity of Miyakojima. At the cape's tip, stairs lead down to an underwater world located approximately 4 meters below the seabed.
The spacious 150 m² observation area spans 29.6 meters wide and 5 meters deep. Through 24 windows, each 1.5 meters high and 12 cm thick, you'll view vibrant tropical fish, octopuses, sea snakes, and more. Every visit offers a new encounter with the marine life thriving here.
Guides are available to provide insights into daily ocean conditions, fish species, and the ecology of the underwater environment. Whether young or old, everyone can enjoy this remarkable experience in their regular attire.
The facility also includes a craft corner where you can create personalized souvenirs (additional fee applies), a shop offering Miyakojima-themed goods and handmade items like shell crafts and island sandals, and a seaside café called Kaiyuu. The café serves dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, such as tuna poke bowls and Miyako beef, alongside desserts featuring Miyakojima mangoes, all while you relax and take in the ocean view.
