This was a second time we climbed mt Agung and we definitely booked a better guide that made sure we reached the summit and at a cheaper price than what we got from those promoters from all trails app shamelessly peddling their services . Our guide , Nyoman made sure we were all safely at the summit and ensured our well being . This is way different from the other independent guides that will try to charge you 30% more and then complain that we can’t reach the summit and keep urging us to turn back so y ng at t ng eh can go back to their village and rest by 10am . I highly recommend Nyoman - the lady guide . Please engage her for your hike.
Best guide ever. Very patient, even though I went at a slow pace. Mount Agung is not for the weak; it takes an 8-10 hour climb. 100/100!!
This hike starts from Pura Pasar Agung Sebudi, South of Agung, and towards North. This is the shorter route (than another popular West-side route) and starts 1:30am. Overall it's an intermediate-level hike and the view was amazing. The only complaint is the breakfast was a bit underwhelming, and I got food poisoning (I think from the fried bananas provided by the guide) after I got down :(
