Let today be the start of something new. With your expert guide start a journey beyond the temples to the Kampong Phluk Floating village, a country market, and you’ll see the lifestyle of the locals. Then, take a short boat cruise through the fishing village and flooded trees to the Tonle Sap Lake. We wander through the Village, a Primary School, Buddhist Pagoda, and see the everyday life of the villagers. The Tour guide will share with you the area’s knowledge, culture, and history of Cambodia. Next up, enjoy your Lunch hosted by a local family—three dishes of typical Khmer Foods for you. This Tour has been created to connect travelers with local hosts & families through daily life and authentic dining experiences in Cambodia. Our concept is to provide additional income to Khmer women & families and connect them to the tourism industry. The menu for your lunch are 3 main courses, and a seasoning fruit, Cambodian Cakes. Visit the beautiful Tonle Sap, the lake is the 2nd largest freshwater lake in the world. This lake is the lifeblood of the country and the primary source of fish and protein for most of the Cambodian population. Visit the flooded forest and floating villages. You will see a floating fishing village that moves as water levels rise and recede during the year. Your local guide will explain to you the daily lifestyles and works of a local who lives on land and on water. Many houses and buildings are constructed on stilts ranging from 6 m to 9 m to accommodate the changes in water level between the wet and dry seasons. During the dry season (November-April) as the river thins due to receding water, many turn to farming to supplement their income. The tour guide will share with you the Cambodian Foods and the culture of this area. You may want to explore the vegetable gardens and Rice Fields nearby before or after lunch. You may want to taste some of the local beer or juice. The meal is 1 Starter, 2 Main courses and 1 seasoning fruit. The Tour Guide will ask you to select menu at 8.00 am when your start the Tour.
