Activity Description Upon arrival at our base just outside the city, our expert guides will provide a safety briefing and gear you up. Then, it’s time to hop on your ATV and ride ancient trails at modern speed! We’ll head through rugged Icelandic terrain towards the beautiful Lake Hafravatn. Here, we'll pause for a scenic photo break—keep an eye out for Icelandic horses, local birds like the ptarmigan, and perhaps even an Arctic fox on our way up Hafrafell mountain. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over Reykjavik and the surrounding volcanic landscapes. As you take in the scenery above Mosfellsbær, you can ponder the local legend of Silfur Egils—the lost silver hoard of the famous Viking Egill Skallagrímsson, rumored to be hidden somewhere in these very hills. After taking in the fresh mountain air and spectacular sights, we’ll cruise back down to base. Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours.
