I found this to be a great value experience, during my extended 30-hour layover in Miami. Whilst I was expecting a less-commercialised venue, the venue itself was adequate and clearly designed with the repatriation of injured alligators in mind. Approximately an hour to 1:15 drive from Bayside Central, you catch a “Big Bus” and arrive at Sawgrass Recreation Park. You then have about 2 and a half hours to both explore the exhibits, including a presentation on the purpose of the park and their objectives, and the airboat ride, which lasted the better part of an hour. Be prepared that you may not see any alligators out in the water, however our group was lucky with a few sightings and our airboat captain was skilled in manoeuvring incredibly close to them. Our bus driver, German, was fantastic and passionate. Would highly recommend overall even if you only have a day in Miami!
