The song of the Siren, translated by the rustle of the trees and the waves that are printed on the rock, will accompany us during this journey to discover hidden corners of the Sorrento Peninsula.
Itinerary
Bar Orlando
We are in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, a hamlet of Massa Lubrense so called because DA some points you can see the Gulf of Naples and Salerno at the same time. The best view to admire the two bays is along the Sentiero delle Sirenuse, a scenic ring path FRA terraces, valleys and cliffs that flanks the sea on the initial stretch of the Amalfi Coast.
The route winds FRA the country lanes where an ancient washhouse with two stone basins is hidden, where the inhabitants continue to wash their clothes. Continuing, you arrive at a flowery dirt path that runs along the sea from above.
A gentle walk up to the climb of Pizzetiello, a promontory on top of the Punta Sant’Elia cliffs. There are 489 meters of steep climb that end on a meadow overlooking a beautiful panorama: the view is lost between Praiano and the Faraglioni and, if the weather is favorable, you can also see Punta Licosa, the extreme tip of the Gulf of Salerno. In front, it almost seems to look into the eyes of the mythical Sirens that are only 2,800 meters away.
