In the nearby town of Yumani, is the Staircase of the Inca, which leads to a fountain that, according to ancient beliefs, prolonged youth. In the north, near the town of Challapampa, are the labyrinthine ruins of Chincana. The Sacred Rock is said to be the place of origin of the Incas.
