Highlights

The 4-day Juatinga Travessia is a complete immersion experience in one of the most preserved areas of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Over the course of four days, travellers walk through paradisiacal beaches, crystal clear waterfalls, and trails surrounded by lush nature, while learning about the way of life of the cascade communities. Unlike a conventional trekking, the overnight stay is held in homes of local families, with homemade meals prepared on time, providing an authentic community-based tourism experience. With small groups and accredited and local Guide, the crossing offers a unique combination of adventure, culture, hospitality and unforgettable landscapes.

Itinerary

From Paraty Mirim to Pouso da cajaiba

  • Pao de Acucar Peak

    Get ready for a unique adventure! This crossing is ideal for adventurers with good physical condition. The journey is challenging, but the rewards are unparalleled. Meeting and Return Point: Paraty (Towards Paraty Mirym to Vila Oratório) Day 1: 7km • Pico Pão de Açúcar (Saco de Mamangua) - 3 km We will begin with an exciting journey by speedboat from Paraty Mirim to Praia do Cruzeiro (Saco de Mamangua), where we will have the opportunity to conquer Pico Pão de Açúcar, with its 425 meters of altitude. The climb will take about an hour, followed by an equally exciting descent. Afterwards, we will enjoy the beach and a delicious lunch.

  • Pouso da Cajaiba Beach

    • Cajaíba Beaches - 4 km After lunch, we will board another speedboat to Praia Grande da Cajaíba, where we will explore the Praia Grande waterfall and the paradisiacal beaches of Cajaíba. The first day ends at the welcoming Praia de Pouso da Cajaíba, where a caiçara dinner awaits us and where we will spend the night.

    Day 2: 9.3 km • Martin de Sa Beach - 4 km We will start the day with a refreshing breakfast and then begin a two-hour walk to Martin de Sa Beach. We will stop to enjoy the beach and lunch. Martin de Sa is a deserted beach frequented by surfers and full of natural beauty.

  • Cairuçu das Pedras

    • Cairuçu das Pedras - 5.3 km After lunch, we will continue our walk to Cairuçu das Pedras, with a waterfall along the way. When we get there, we will have the privilege of enjoying the beach and a waterfall with a pool by the sea. The second day ends in Cairuçu.

    Day 3: 6.5 km (600 m altitude) • Cairuçu das Pedras - Ponta Negra This will be the most challenging day, but the reward will be worth it. We will follow the most beautiful trail in the Juatinga Reserve, known as the "Enchanted Forest". The 600 meter climb will be tiring, but the natural beauty of the place is simply unbelievable. The journey will take us to Ponta Negra, where we will enjoy a well-deserved lunch and a refreshing swim in the sea. We will spend the night in Ponta Negra.

  • Cachoeira do Saco Bravo

    Day 4: • Cachoeira do Saco Bravo - Vila Oratório (14 km) On our last day, we will start the trail early, around 6am, with breakfast at 5:30am. We will begin the trail that will take us to the stunning Saco Bravo Waterfall, one of the highlights of the Reserve. The round trip trail will take around two hours, with ups and downs. At 1pm, we will be back in Ponta Negra for a snack, and at 2pm we will begin our last walk, which will take us along three paradisiacal beaches: Praia de Antiguinhos, Praia de Antigos and Praia do Sono. The adventure will end in Vila Oratório. If you opt for a full day, we will return to Paraty between 7pm and 7:30pm.

  • Sono Beach

    3 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    At 1pm, we will be back in Ponta Negra for a snack, and at 2pm we will begin our last walk, which will take us along three paradisiacal beaches: Praia de Antiguinhos, Praia de Antigos and Praia do Sono. The adventure will end in Vila Oratório. If you opt for a full day, we will return to Paraty between 7pm and 7:30pm. For those who wish to return to Paraty earlier, we offer the option of doing the Saco Bravo trail in the morning and, after lunch, taking a speedboat to Vila Oratório and then a bus or private transport to Paraty. The speedboat to Vila Oratório is available for R$80 per person for one person and R$60 per person for two people (optional).
