A breathtaking journey through time begins above ground along the Ancient Lands Experience, a pathway that winds through native bushland, where a series of interactive installations brings the creation of this remarkable place to life.
As you wander the fully accessible Ancient Lands Experience, you’ll learn about cultural connections to the land, the local flora and fauna, and the formation of the pristine caves beneath the Leeuwin-Naturaliste limestone ridge.
The path leads you to the entrance of Ngilgi Cave, where you can descend and explore its majestic stalactites, stalagmites, helictites, and beautifully coloured shawls at your own pace.
Guides are positioned throughout the experience and are on hand to assist you and share their knowledge.
The entire above and below-ground experience takes around 1.5 hours. If you opt for above-ground exploration only, allow around 30 minutes. There is also a nature-based play area for children at the final stop.

We booked the Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands Self-Guided Experience via Pelago and the process was incredibly smooth. No need to print anything – just provide your name at the entrance and they’ll issue your ticket. Super easy and efficient! The cave itself is stunning, filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites that are beautifully lit to enhance the natural formations. It’s a self-guided tour, so you can explore at your own pace, which is great for taking your time to appreciate the underground beauty. A few things to note: 1. There are a lot of stairs – some are steep and narrow, so be prepared for a fair bit of climbing. It can be quite a workout, especially going back up! 2. The deeper you go, the lower the oxygen level gets – if you're not very fit or tend to get tired easily, you may find it a bit challenging. Surprisingly, the cave is very warm and humid, even during winter. So avoid wearing heattech or thick jackets – a light top or T-shirt is enough once you're inside. Despite the physical effort, the cave is well worth visiting for its natural beauty and the immersive experience of being surrounded by ancient formations. There's also an informative section at the start that shares Aboriginal stories and the cultural significance of the land, which adds a meaningful layer to the visit. Highly recommended for those who enjoy nature, geology, and don’t mind a bit of a climb. Just dress light and wear comfortable shoes!
Perfect. Easy to redeem.
