Enjoy a fulfilling 5-hour tour visiting the theme park of Hokkaido’s famous confectionery “Shiroi Koibito,” Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, and the Jogai Market where you can experience the flavors of Hokkaido.
This course is operated with a bus equipped with a multilingual audio guidance system available in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean, allowing you to explore Sapporo’s highlights in a short time.
The first stop is Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium. This facility was established in 1932 when Baron Kishichiro Okura commissioned Lieutenant Helset of Norway to design the jump, following a proposal by Prince Chichibu Yasuhito, known as the “Prince of Sports.” It was later renovated in 1970 for the Sapporo Winter Olympics and served as the venue for the 90-meter class ski jumping event at the 11th Winter Olympic Games. From the observation deck at the starting point of the ski jump at an elevation of 307 meters, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Sapporo city and the Ishikari Plain beyond the jump slope.
After departing Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, the tour heads to Shiroi Koibito Park. This popular attraction features the “Chocolate Factory,” where you can observe the production process of the famous Hokkaido confectionery Shiroi Koibito, as well as the “Tudor House,” modeled after medieval British architecture. In summer, the “Rose Garden” blooms with English roses and old roses, and the Miyanosawa Shiroi Koibito Soccer Stadium, where you can watch Consadole Sapporo practice, is also located nearby.
After visiting Shiroi Koibito Park, the tour proceeds to the final stop, the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market Jogai Market. This market offers a wide selection of fresh seafood, vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients gathered from all over Hokkaido. There are also many restaurants where you can enjoy seafood bowls and set meals made with fresh ingredients, and lunch will be at your own expense here.
After enjoying delicious food and shopping for souvenirs, you may choose to get off at Sapporo Clock Tower, one of Sapporo’s most iconic landmarks located near Odori Park.
Although it is a short tour, it is a fulfilling and reasonably priced course that only a regular sightseeing bus can offer.
