Highlights
Explore and admire Auckland's largest regional park, the Waitakere Ranges, on this 5 hour afternoon eco-tour. The perfect way to get out of the city and enjoy the nature on Auckland's door step.
You'll be picked up from your centrally located Auckland hotel before traveling 30-minutes west to the Waitakere Ranges.
From here travel further west to enjoy a walk in the rainforest before visiting the beautiful Piha Beach for a walk on the soft black sand.
Afternoon refreshments are provided along with full commentary from our driver guides.

We have been running tours in this area for over 40 years so you will be being looked after by the local experts. Top marks to the tour agent - Bush & Beach. Peter (guide) and Erin (driver) were professional and instrumental in making the afternoon tour to the rainforest and the black sand beach such a success. Peter was knowledgeable on the history of Auckland and New Zealand and kept us entertained throughout the journey. I did not realize there is so much to learn about the rainforest. Peter seemed to have a story to tell about a tree or bush every 10 meters apart. It was interesting. No pests in New Zealand! Piha Beach was something special. Nice soft black sand and strong winds from the ocean. Again, Peter gave good tips on what not to do - walk with back facing the waves or walk barefoot on the sand (there is metal in the black sand so the sand can get really hot). Erin and Peter played tea party hosts and served us coffee/tea and biscuits with Manuka honey! Nice touch. Logistics arrangements were perfectly done. I highly recommend this tour AND this tour agent for Auckland. Thank you so much, Bush & Beach!
