We'll embark on a Luxor day tour to explore the Theban necropolis on the west bank of the Nile. Here, you'll uncover the mysteries of the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of the New Kingdom Pharaohs (1550 – 1080 BC). Carved into the mountainside, this burial ground contains 64 tombs, with the earliest belonging to Queen Hatshepsut's father, Tuthmosis I (1506–1493 BC). Queen Hatshepsut, the only woman to rule Egypt as a pharaoh, is portrayed in masculine form, donning a pharaoh's kilt and beard. Additionally, on the West Bank, you'll encounter the two Colossi of Memnon, towering twenty meters high, serving as the sole remnants of Amenophis III's funerary temple.
