Koper is the largest and most important city today in Slovenian Istria. The city was greatly changed throughout history, but kept important role in the area, which is also felt through all the different names Koper has had through years. Today Koper represents the administrative, educational, cultural, industrial and tourist center in the area and it is the most important Slovenian port.

    Muda Gate is the old main entrance in Koper, when Koper still has been an island with town walls. The gate dates back to Renaissance times - nearby there is also a picturesque square.

  • Carpaccio square

    The square is named after Vittore Carpaccio - after whom also the famous dish is called. Carpaccio used to live here in old age.

  • Koper Cathedral and Bell Tower

    We will se the Cathedral's Bell Tower and Facade that are in Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance style. It is possible to individually visit also the inside of the Cathedral - that one has Baroque and Neoclassical elements.
