I think this was by far one of the coolest things I've ever done. The whale sharks were a sight to behold —so huge and so gentle, and the guide was so passionate about taking the gopro footage for us. Sardine run and turtle snorkeling was also crazyyy — didnt think there'd be schools of thousands of fishes so close to shore!! But what really took the cake was the canyoneering. We didn't get to do Kawasan as the water levels were too high and muddy due to the rain, so our guide Ryan took us to Kabutongan instead, which was still crazy cool, and there were only the 6 of us there with our guides. Though the falls, views and diving off the cliff was great, what really made the trip so fun were the guides — Hamen, Floyd and Gerald who were pure hype men. Thanks for making our day so amazing boys, and biggest shoutout to Ryan our driver who probably drove us for at least 8 hours on the day, all the way from Mactan to Oslob, Kabutongan, Moalboal and back. Some expenses you might wanna bring cash for — ₱550 gopro rental only for whale watching with direct transferring of the vids after the activity; ₱180 for a towel in Oslob if you forget to bring one; ₱100 for a waterproof phone pouch at the same place; cash for snacks from any convenience store; and tips for your guides — 1 private group guide in Oslob bringing you from the car to the whale shark site and holding on to your phone if it's not in a waterproof case, 1 private group guide on the boat who will take your vids for you, 1 guide (hype man) per person while canyoneering, and 1 private group guide for the sardine run. For the canyoneering and the sardine run I just used my phone for the pictures and videos and honestly good enough, but you might want to bring a gopro! One of the canyoneering guides (I think) had an Insta360 and took lots of videos of us but it might be his personal device as we're not sure where it is now tbh, but regardless the photos and videos just from our phones that the guide took of us jumping and trekking through the wild was good enough. Cannot recommend this activity highly enough!!
