Temple of Heaven Park is a very important scenic spot in Beijing. The Temple of Heaven was a special altar used by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to worship the heavens, pray for rain, and pray for a bountiful harvest. It is a famous ancient building in China. The northern part of the altar is circular and the southern part is square, symbolizing "heaven is round and earth is square".
