Although the Chimpanzees are the Gombe’s primary attraction there are many other primates, and mammals to be seen. The bird-life in Gombe is extraordinary, as there is a great crossover of East African grassland birds and West African forest species. A trek to Gombe National Park and Mahale is a perfect choice for those intrepid travelers who wish to experience remoteness and unspoiled wilderness.

Itinerary

Dar es salaam to Gombe National Park

  • Lake Tanganyika

    2 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    Morning departure from Arusha/Dar es Salaam/ Zanzibar Airport with a commercial flight to Kigoma. On arrival you will be picked up and and transfer to Gombe National Park, on arrival you will check-in at your accommodation where a hot lunch would be served.

  • Gombe National Park

    4 hoursAdmission Ticket Free
    After Lunch and a short rest you will meet with a professional armed ranger and begin a 3-4 hour chimpanzee trek within the tropical dense forests of Gombe Stream National Park experience various chimpanzee clans, warthogs, baboons and many monkey species. Return to camp for refreshments and Dinner.

    on arrival you will have lunch and a short rest then head for the chimpanzee trek in the mountain. Later return to camp for Dinner and overnight
