The fun begins only 15 minutes from the port in our base in Maimon. Before we start, we will give you all the gear, a full safety briefing, and you can ask any questions. Then we will go and explore the stunning Dominican countryside along the Atlantic Ocean coast. We will first travel through the charming village of Maimon to our first stop. There is a great photo opportunity where you can take pictures on the beach with the cruise ship behind you at the port. Along the way, you will experience life in the campo and certainly meet some of the local Dominican people, who are always friendly and smiling. It is also not uncommon to see animals on the road like chickens and wild turkeys, even pigs or donkeys. At our next stop, we will find an authentic cigar house, where you can learn all about how they make the cigars and also see them in action. While you are there, you can try a little mamajuana (our local rum delight), chocolate and local organic hot coffee. Then drive along by the river and down a trail through the backcountry before arriving at the beach. Here you will enjoy a delicious Dominican lunch and can relax on the sunbeds.
