Your day begins with a scenic drive from Christchurch toward the majestic Southern Alps. We'll stop in Darfield, known for its popular bakery, then continue to Springfield to snap a photo with the town’s iconic giant doughnut. From there, we head to Lake Lyndon, a peaceful alpine lake, where we’ll enjoy morning tea surrounded by mountain views. Travelling over Porters Pass, we arrive in Arthur’s Pass village, where you can explore native bush tracks, spot local wildlife, or join an optional guided walk to the stunning Devil’s Punchbowl Waterfall. Optional Upgrade – TranzAlpine Scenic Train Upgrade your tour with a one-way ride on the world-famous TranzAlpine Train. You’ll be transferred to the station to board this iconic rail journey through Canterbury’s plains and mountain passes. Your guide will meet you in Arthur’s Pass to continue the rest of the day’s adventure. (This replaces the road journey to Arthur’s Pass; all other inclusions remain the same.) *This is subject to availability on your travel dates. After exploring Arthur’s Pass, we’ll visit Castle Hill Boulders, a surreal landscape of giant limestone formations, before heading back to Christchurch.
