I booked a car to pick me up at my hotel in Bhopal, bring me to Sanchi Stupas and Udaygiri Caves, and drop me off at the airport (where I had a flight departing at 16:40) My driver (Mr Rashid) arrived early at my hotel and we set off 15 minutes before the pickup time. Mr Rashid prepared a small basket of snacks, drinks and tissue paper in the car. (Very thoughtful.) The journey to Sanchi is smooth. I managed to spend 2 hours in Sanchi, half an hour in Sanchi Museum, and 1 hour at Udaygiri Caves. Compared to other attractions in India (e.g. Taj Mahal, Ajanta Caves, Ellora Caves), Sanchi and Udaygiri Caves are blissfully free of touts and "guides", allowing me to explore peacefully and quietly at my own pace. (However there is no shade at both sites so it is useful to bring an umbrella.) After the tour, Mr Rashid drove me to the airport and I reached the airport 3 hours before my flight's departure. I am glad that Mr Rashid didn't bring me to handicraft factories or shops. (When I booked similar car tours in Egypt and Turkey, the driver kept bringing me to shops, wasting my time and money.)
