Highlights
Leave the city behind and uncover one of Thailand's most emotional and awe-inspiring regions on this 2-day escape to Kanchanaburi. Travel from Bangkok to historic River Kwai, where war stories meet jungle serenity.
Step back in time at iconic World War II sites, including Bridge over River Kwai and Death Railway. Visit Thailand-Burma Railway Centre for insight into harsh conditions POWs endured during construction. Wander around War Cemetery absorbing silence and solemnity.
Then take long-tail boat deep into jungle where your night's accommodation awaits: floating bamboo raft gently swaying on river. With no electricity, Wi-Fi, or distractions, Jungle Rafts offer off-the-grid eco-retreat. Enjoy traditional Mon cultural performance in evening.
Next day, visit Mon tribal village and take short jungle hike. Ride infamous railway through dramatic cliffs and forested landscapes, including wooden viaduct suspended high on cliff. Adventure includes transport, guiding, meals, and overnight.

For an insight into this historic area, start with a visit to the Thailand–Burma Railway Centre. This interactive museum gives a glimpse into the harsh conditions that the prisoners of war (POWs) endured during the construction of the Death Railway. Many of the thousands who perished while constructing the tracks are buried at the nearby War Cemetery. This tour is operated both on private basis as well as on joint / Seat-In-Coach basis. Joint tours are operated with an English-speaking guide only.
Guests are requested not to bring more than one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person on transfers due to available luggage space on private cars.
Transfers are only operated within the downtown Bangkok areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, both International Airports, Ratchadapisek and upper Sukhumvit (Soi 55 and further) are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
Should you have booked a joint / Seat-In-Coach excursion, we are unable to communicate with you with accurate participation numbers, as these may change until the very last moment.
We will do all possible to comply with any dietary requirements during this excursion; it may not always be possible to confirm your wishes in advance based on the choice of local restaurants.

Check-in and check-out times are regulated by each individual hotel and in general (exceptions are available for which we cannot be held accountable), check-in time at hotels are not before 14:00 hrs as check-out times are before 12:00 hrs. This tour includes driving over uneven paths, surfaces and off-road bumpy roads, unsuitable for pregnant women, people with neck and back problems and those with limited mobility.
