ITINERARY 7:00am Transportation from Flores or Belize Western border to Ecolodge El Sombrero in Yaxha to get the boat to Topoxte. 9:00am The boat departs the lodge to the island of Topoxte across the Yaxha lagoon. A Post Classic settlement with evidence of occupation during the Classic Period under the influence of Yaxha. Here, the Principal Plaza has been excavated and restored so you can go up some structures. The adventure continues with a boat ride to the north side of the lagoon to start a 2-hour trek through the jungle immersing yourself in nature. You walk under the canopy of the trees learning about the flora and fauna of the area. Upon arriving at the Maler Plaza of Yaxha, you will take a break, rehydrate and have your Picnic Lunch. The third part of this adventure to explore the city of Yaxha with your guide. You visit the highlights of the city, the main temples, royal palaces, Ball courts and the iconic Temple of the Red Hands. You end your visit with spectacular view before driving back to your hotel.
