Monteverde's outstanding canopy tour has the longest cables in Costa Rica and is the only one truly immersed in virgin forest. The tour is made up of cables and viewing platforms, traversing over two miles of forest and combining the thrill of the zip line with a unique perspective of the tree-top canopy. After an initial introduction to the safety equipment, visitors are fitted with the highest quality harnesses by professional guides. Soon after, riders will begin their flight through the forest. For the real adrenaline junkies, the Monteverde Canopy Tour includes an optional Tarzan Swing, a high-security rope swing that launches you right into the forest for the ultimate Costa Rican adventure. Visitors are advised to wear long pants, and closed-toed shoes and to bring rain gear just in case. The tour lasts between 2.5 and 3.5 hours. It is suitable for anyone over the age of 4, but for safety reasons, a weight restriction of 280 lbs and maximum waist width of 120cm applies.
