With upwards of 1,200 years of action-packed history to draw upon, there’s not a pavement stone in Dublin that doesn’t have a tale to tell. On this self guided audio tour, I’ll escort you through a small chunk of the Irish capital, bringing you from St Stephen’s Green via Merrion Square to Trinity College Dublin.
Along the way, I’ll fill you in on characters such as Bernardo O’Higgins, Maurice Fitzgerald, Wolfe Tone and Paddy Hitler. We’ll learn about Vikings who became Normans, Frenchmen who fought for Ireland, and Irishmen who fought for Mexico.
At the time of publishing this tour, Trinity College was closed to the public until August 10th to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It might reopen sooner, or later, and it might close again after reopening. If it happens to be closed when you take this tour, I recommend retiring to one of the many fine pubs nearby, to listen to the rest of the tour in comfort.
