Ayutthaya, founded around 1350, once served as the second capital of the

Situated approximately 80 kilometers north of Bangkok, Ayutthaya thrived as an
international trading port and served as the capital of the Kingdom of Siam
until its destruction by the Burmese in 1767. Today, the remnants of this
once-flourishing city form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an awe-inspiring
archaeological site adorned with palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries, and
statues. The park is nestled on an island encircled by three rivers.

history. Despite collapses and restorations, the Ministry of Culture's Arts
Department revived it in 1956. Discover Buddha enshrined in a stupa and other
statues in the temple. The museum also displays numerous excavated artifacts.

center of temple are three large bell shaped stupas, which have become the
landmarks of Ayutthaya Historical Park. The stupas were built to enshrine the
ashes of Ayutthaya Kings. Wat Phra Si Sanphet housed an enormous gilded
standing image of the Buddha is 16 meters high.

Ayutthaya Boat Trip ล่องเรืออยุธยา
VND 861.100
Driver spoke good English. Very safe driver too. Brought us to really nice pit stops along the way for lunch and tea too.
The private "tour" was more of a private "pick-up" and "drop-off" + help you take few photos service by a local Thai who spoke little English. Our driver was really friendly, met us at the lobby of our hotel, and brought us in his car to Ayutthaya. Once we got onto his car, immediately I realised he don't speak English. He proceeded to send me some locations to pick for lunch, and used the translate app on his phone to ask me to pick a location. Restaurant recommendation was good, then he brought us to the temple ruins ground throughout the afternoon, but mainly left us alone to explore the place with no explanation about the venue. We were also brought to a cafe later with a surprise - feeding elephant experience that came with our package. But F&B served at the cafe was extremely overpriced and we were also wrongly charged double for our order - without any resolution, ending up paying THB398 for one bowl of dessert. All in all, this package was for a point to point driver, and helped you to take some photos. Expect no guide or explanation for this package.
