Against the looming backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers, this timeless village is home to the best Malaysian delicacies. While much of KL is modern, Kampung Baru maintains its history in its many traditional Malay wooden houses. With your guide, you'll visit the Raja Bot Market, formerly Chow Kit Market. Since its opening in 1957, many of the vendors still remain today.
Visit Nam Kee, a local coffee shop famous for cham drinks served with kaya toast. Discover an exciting array of fruits, local vegetables, meat and fish, as well as Anne's flower basket shop if you're lucky. Sample local favourites like nasi lemak antarabangsa (international coconut rice) or nasi Ayam Goreng (fried rice with chicken). Try some tapai, a sweet fermented rice dessert wrapped in banana leaves.

Amazing experience touring the last kampung in KL with a visit to a local market & a nearby Sikh temple. Elena is professional and warm, considerate of her clients comfort level. She takes an active interest in engaging local residents & vendors. The tour made our KL trip very memorable and hope others too get to experience another side of KL away from the flashy modernisation taking over most cities.
