We will then move to the Cathedral, which creates that deep bond of closeness between Lecce and its patron saints. The identity of the city of Otranto, however, is not only linked to the sea, but also to important architectural structures such as the Aragonese Castle which surrounds the historic center together with the mighty walls with the Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata inside, which is the result of a mosaic of architectural styles, just as Otranto is a mosaic of peoples.
