This museum is a faithful reconstruction of a traditional Romanian wine cellar (cramă) dating back to the year 1777, as indicated by the inscription on its portal. ️ Historical Significance The original wooden structure was considered the oldest preserved peasant dwelling in Prahova County until 1985. In that year, it was dismantled to conserve its materials, which were later used to reconstruct the museum at its current location. Constructed between 1698 and 1702 by Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, the palace exemplifies the Brâncovenesc architectural style, a unique blend of Venetian, Ottoman, and Byzantine influences . --- ️ Historical Significance The palace was initially built by Prince Brâncoveanu, who ruled Wallachia from 1688 to 1714. Following his execution in 1714, the palace underwent several transformations, including serving as an inn and experiencing periods of neglect. In the 19th century, it came under the ownership of the Bibescu family, who undertook significant restoration efforts. Notably, Princess Martha Bibescu, a renowned writer and cultural figure, invested her personal fortune to restore and preserve the palace in the early 20th century .
