Highlights
Chopta-Tungnath is a 27km trek leading to the highest Shiva temple in India: Tungnath. Its highest point is located in the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand at 3,700 m.
It is one of the most exciting and diverse treks you can do in the region. The trek is accessible for people with less trekking experience and is a great way to get initiated into the beauty of the Indian Himalayas.

Rishikesh - Sari - Deoriya Tal
Sari
2 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeSari is a small local village in the Himalayas. A beautiful place to experience the calmness of life in the mountains. We'll have our lunch there and then leave toward our camp for the night, about 3km from the village.Deoria Tal Lake
12 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedWe'll have lunch in Sari, and then trek on a steep but easy 3km to our camp near Deoriya Tal. The lake is a beautiful and peaceful place reflecting the Himalayan peaks covered in snow. We'll enjoy some time by the lake's side and then reach our camp for the night.- AccommodationsOvernight at a permanent camp near Deoria Tal. The camp offers big army tents with beds and blankets. Bathroom is sharedFood And DrinksBreakfast - We'll have breakfast on the way to Sari in an Indian restaurant. You'll have a choice of various items in the menu.Lunch - We'll have lunch in Sari. It will be composed of a fresh hand-made indian meal (daal, vegetables, chapati, and rice).Dinner - The dinner will be served in our camp near Deoriya Tal. It will be freshly made with vegetables we brought.
Deoriya Tal - Chopta

12 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeOur second day will be the longuest. We'll have breakfast in our camp in Deoriya Tal, then walk on the ridge on the mountains and in the forest until Chopta. This is a beautiful walk where you'll get to see the Himalayan peaks. Chopta is a hill station which serves as a base for many treks in the region. We'll have dinner there and spend the night.- AccommodationsOvernight at a guesthouse in Chopta. Private bathroom, hot water available on request.Food And DrinksBreakfast - We'll have breakfast at our camp in Deoriya Tal. (Porridge, fruits, parantha). The menu is subject to changes.Lunch - We'll have a packed lunch on the way. (Cumin potatoes with Chapati, fruits and snacks). The menu is subject to changes.Dinner - We'll have dinner at our guesthouse in Chopta. Freshly cooked Indian meal. (Dal, vegetables, chapati, rice).
Chopta - Chandrashila - Tungnath - Chopta

1 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeOur third day, we'll leave early in the morning and walk in the dark to Chandrashila summit for sunrise. The summit is at 3 700 m of altitude and has a 360 degree view over the Himalayan Peaks. We can see the Chaukhomba peak, Trishul, and Nanda Devi from there. 1 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeAfter the visit of the Chandrashila summit, we'll go down and stop at the Tungnath temple. Tungnath is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the highest Shiva temple in the world.Chopta
