Watching the band of the Milky Way arching right across the night sky is truly
magical. Witnessing it from Sullivan Rock and it is simply unforgettable!

We will hike from Sullivan Rock to Mt Vincent through lush Jarrah and Banksia
forest and then out on to giant granite slopes to enjoy the sunset and amazing
views from the peak.

Here we’ll enjoy a delicious gourmet spread of antipasto goodness as we watch
the sky transform from daylight to dusk to darkness.

Arriving back at Sullivan Rock, our Astronomer Guide from Star Tracks Astro
Events will take us on a magical journey of the night sky. Using an amazing
green laser pointer, he will point out constellations, planets and share the
wonders of the universe. Then you will have a chance to view it all through a
large telescope. This will be a breath-taking and special starry night to
remember!

Total hike distance is 4kms, the terrain is quite uneven with a steep
ascent/descent so sturdy shoes with good grip are a must, the trail is
achievable for most people.

Meeting Place: Sullivan Rock Carpark, Albany Hwy, Mt Cooke. (Use the
first gravel exit on the RHS off Albany Hwy into the upper, smaller carpark).
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a prompt departure.

What to Bring?

• Backpack with 2L of water
• Head Torch with a red light (if you have one, or borrow ours)
• Camera
• Personal first aid/medications
• Hat/Woolly hat & insect repellent
• Sturdy hiking or walking shoes
• Raincoat & warm layer
• A sense of adventure & a big smile!
