Highlights
At a height of 5,200 feet above sea level, Munnar is a hill-station in the South Indian state of Kerala. It was a favored summer resort for the British. This beautiful town is best known for its tea plantations that can be seen for miles around on the gentle slopes of the Western Ghats range of mountains. On this day-tour of Munnar visit the two artificial lakes there, two mountain peaks and a wildlife sanctuary.

Mattupetty Dam
1 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeYou will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Mattupetty Dam that is located 8 miles away from Munnar. This dam has a beautiful artificial lake and offers some great views of the valleys of Munnar. It is home to several species of birds that are a delight to watch. Spend some time here and also take a boat ride on the lake.Echo Point
3 hoursAdmission Ticket FreeNext drive to Echo Point situated on the banks of a picturesque river. Enjoy the thrill of hearing your echo and take in the scenic beauty around you. After Echo Point you will be driven to Kundalam Dam. Spend some time walking along the artificial lake here. The top of the dam offers a panoramic view of the green hills surrounding it. Continue your drive to Top Station, the highest point of Munnar that is 5,500 feet above sea level. The mountain is surrounded by misty white clouds and appears to be floating in them. After spending some time at Top Station have lunch (beverage excluded) at a local restaurant.Kurinjimala Wildlife Sanctuary
2 hoursAdmission Ticket IncludedYour last stop for the day will be the Kurinjimala Wildlife Sanctuary. The name is derived from the Neelakurinji flowers (Strobilanthes). These blue colored flowers blossom just once in 12 years. The sanctuary is home to several endangered species of animals like the Elephant, Gaur and Nilgiri Tahr. Over 200 species of birds can also be seen here. Some of them are the Crested Serpent Eagle, Black Baza, Crested Goshawk, Spot Bellied Eagle Owl, Alpine Swift and Nilgiri Flycatcher. At the end of the tour you will be driven back to Munnar and dropped off at your hotel.
