Highlights
Visit Montserrat, home to the sanctuary of the Virgin and the Benedictine monastery, which has welcomed pilgrims for nearly a thousand years. People from across the globe come to see the image of the Virgin of Montserrat, a Romanesque sculpture from the late 12th century. The Montserrat Boys' Choir, one of the oldest music schools in Europe, contributes to the liturgical celebrations and community prayers held in the basilica.
To get to Montserrat from Barcelona, take the train and the rack railway. Trains from Barcelona-Pl España station run every hour starting around 8:30 am. The Montserrat rack railway covers a height difference of over 600 meters and offers clear views of the surrounding mountain.

The selected time corresponds to the singing of the Escolania; make sure to arrive at the basilica at least 15 minutes before it starts. You can visit the other sites included in this ticket either before or after the singing
Please validate your tickets at Plaça Espanya station, at the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC).
Trains depart every hour from Barcelona Plaza Espanya to Montserrat. Get off at the Monistrol de Montserrat stop to take the rack railway to the sanctuary
The FGC ticket office at Plaça Espanya is open from 08 am to 2 pm. Outside these ho urs yo u will not be able to validate your ticket.
