FengHuang Ancient Town, founded in 1704 during the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, earned its name due to the resemblance of the surrounding green hills to a soaring phoenix. The town's well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, cobblestone streets, and wooden stilt houses along the riverbanks offer a glimpse into its rich historical past. Notable structures include the East and North Ancient City Gates, as well as various temples, shrines, and museums, all embodying the essence of the ancient city.
In 1992, the Wulingyuan Scenic Area, composed of the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and two other major scenic spots, was inscribed on the World Natural Heritage List by UNESCO. The area's remarkable geological features were further recognized in 2004 when it was named a Global Geopark.

After, we will take you to pingan rice terraces or Dazhai rice terraces , and you will enjoy about 2.5 hour short hiking tour in the afternoon. En-route you will appreciate the fascinating view of the rice terraces. The terraces are still used for growing premium quality rice by Yao and Zhuang villagers. Mount Tianzi is renowned by the amazing natural landscape, it embodies varied beautiful scenes at different time within one day and is reputed as “huge bonsai, small fairyland". Afterwards, take a shuttle bus to Yuanjiajie (UNESCO), experience the magnificent scenery of jagged peaks and deep valleys.
