The word Cape Comorin is a combination of two words, Cape, meaning a land which infiltrated into the sea and Comorin the former name of the area. On the way visit Padmanbhapuram Palace, the largest wooden palace complex of Asia that served as the summer palace of the erstwhile Travancore Kingdom. Kanyakumari Devi Temple. Located at the tip of the subcontinent, the sea facing temple is a beautiful attraction and one of the highly revered point of interest of the town. It is believed that the back spine area of Sati’s corpse fell here creating the presence of kundalini sakthi in the region. It is also one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Then, pay a visit to the Gandhi Memorial, beautifully perched at the end of the land. Shaped in the form of an Odishi Temple, perfectly imagined by Christian, Hindu, and Muslim architects, the memorial is one of the most famous attractions of Kanyakumari.
