Unlike reef dives that focus on large marine life, macro diving is all about discovering the ocean's hidden treasures. Many of the species found at Tulamben's macro sites are exceptionally well camouflaged and often overlooked by inexperienced divers. The black volcanic sand environment creates excellent contrast for underwater photography, while calm conditions and shallow dive profiles allow divers to spend more time searching for unique marine life and capturing memorable images.
