Hike through ancient paths among the giant rocks, discover historical places and enjoy a hike suitable for the whole family. Discover sights which are hidden away from the public eye, and admire the church of Ypapanti.The footpaths have a long tradition as for many hundreds of years they were the only form of roads leading to the monasteries. You can find different forms of human modifications along the paths either with carved stairs etc. or wooden stairs helping the transportation of equipment and everyday needs.

Due to the current and worldwide status of the recent COVID-19, the monastic community and, thus, the Monasteries of the Meteora region will stop the provision of skirts and shawls to the visitors. Therefore, all visitors are required to be dressed accordingly: Men are prohibited to wear any sleeveless shirt, andshorts above the knee; Ladies are prohibited to wear any skirts above the knee. All previous clothing will deny any visitor’s entry to the monasteries.
