Kandy to Meemure
Meemure Adventure Tours - Kandy
12 hoursAdmission Ticket Not IncludedYou will be starting your tour at 5:30 am from your Hotel in Kandy. Make sure you bring swimwear and hiking clothes with good boots. Here’s your itinerary: Day 1 05:30 am: Pick up from Queen’s Hotel and drive towards Hunnasgiriya. 07:00 am: Hunnasgiriya Junction - Transfer to a 4x4 vehicle. The route will be rough from that point onwards. 08:00 am: Stop at a tea shop for breakfast (at your own cost). 08:40 am: Visit Corbet's Gap to enjoy some magnificent views of the nearby Knuckles Mountain range. 10:00 am: Reach Meemure Village. It has just around 400 people and subsists on agriculture. You will be taken to the camping site. 11:00 am to 03:30 pm: Water Sports. At 1:00 pm a delicious traditional village lunch will be served at the same site. After the end of the activities, you will have some time to rest. 04:30 pm: Tour of the village. You will get to learn the ins and out of village life, their culture, and history. You will also be given a chance to taste some fresh sweet jaggery and fermented toddy made out of kithul palm trees. 06:30 pm: You can choose to return to camp or ask your guide to take you to a rock pool for a dip or a fish massage. 07:30 pm: Campfire and a barbecued dinner. You may also be able to enjoy yourself with campsite stories and music. It will be a fairly tough hike and you will pass alongside Lakegala Mountain. You will be able to see the customs of the other village and have lunch there as well. Then you will be returning. 04:00 pm: Back to camp. If you wish, you can choose to visit the rock pool once again.
