B.C. theatre, a Roman Forum, three early Christian basilicas, an Octagon Church and the assumed spot where Apostle Paul was imprisoned after curing a girl are among the highlights to be seen. Outside the city lies the field of one of the greatest battles of the Roman Civil War, involving about 200,000 men, where the forces of Marcus Antonius and Octavianus clashed in 42 B.C. with those of Brutus and Cassius, in order to avenge for Julius Caesar's assassination.
