He led a distinctive way of life and this house in the heart of the Delta inspired many of his works. He was a plastic artist, astrologer, writer and translator (he spoke several languages), as well as an inventor of new languages. They are the "neocriollo" -a language that he created for Latin America- and the "panlanguage", based on numbers and astrological signs. Solar was a friend of Borges for more than forty years; they were neighbors and had long talks about the world of language. The neocriollo was of great interest to Borges. He published a story called "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius", about an imaginary world with a particular language, words that are formed by adding prefixes and suffixes, based on the idea of neo-creole. "Xul Solar is one of the most unique events of our time," Borges once said. (The visit is subject to weather conditions)Victoria Ocampo
