Must Know
- The Setouchi Triennale Ticket Package is valid from April 18 to November 9, 2025, and cannot be redeemed outside the festival period (May 26–July 31, 2025, September 1–October 2, 2025).
- Local ticket windows in Japan issue tickets usable within one month from redemption.
- Refunds are not provided if trains are out of service.
- Each passport can redeem only one pass of the same type during the same period.
Eligibility
- Available to travelers with a non-Japanese passport.
- Eligible users must hold a “Temporary Visitor” visa status in Japan.
Child Policy
- Adult: Age 12 and above.
- Child: Ages 6–11 require a child ticket.
- Up to 2 children aged 1–5 may travel free with one adult pass holder; additional children require a separate pass.
- Children using reserved seats must have a valid child ticket.

Cancellation Policy

Voucher Use
- Present your e-voucher and passport at JR West Ticket Offices (Midori-no-madoguchi, Green Window) or use self-service green ticket machines with a passport icon.
- Only e-passports can be used at machines. If your passport lacks an IC chip, please redeem at the ticket counter.
- Redemption is valid within 3 months from the date of ticket issuance.
- Pass validity begins upon first use and lasts for 7 consecutive days.
- Reserved seat tickets must be collected at JR West or JR Shikoku ticket offices before boarding.

Easy to redeem at Hiroshima Station within business hours as there is a specialised queue for tourist and redemptions. Also to redeem train tickets was easy too. I am glad to have this pass which saved me money on the ferries to shodoshima and from matsuyama to hiroshima and down to fukuoka and to osaka.
very convenient. We exchanged for the pass at KIX Airport. And just to state the start date for using the pass. With the pass, shinkansen is free, making exploration of setouchi area very worthwhile.
Value for dollar if you are intending to make a to and fro long distance ride and also travel within the region with day tours.

In terms of value, this is as good as it gets. This pass covered our trips from Hakata to Hiroshima, Hiroshima to Kure City and back, Hiroshima to Shin Kobe, Shin Kobe to Shin Osaka, Shin Osaka to Okayama, Okayama to Kurashiki (Yakumo), Kurashiki back to Shin Osaka, Shin Osaka to Kyoto (Thunderbird), Kyoto to Himeji (Haruka to Shin Osaka then Shinkansen), Himeji to Osaka (Super Hakuto), Osaka to Kyoto (Thunderbird) and finally Kyoto to Kansai Airport (Haruka). However, if you are looking to go to Amanohashidate, this pass does not cover the limited express Hashidate. You should instead be looking at the Sanyo Sanin pass instead (don't make the same mistake I did). Difference is only 1000 yen.
Easy to redeem but expect some Q to exchange for the pass. Unlimited seats reservation but you need go counter make the reservation
