After pick-up from your hotel in Ella, head for Udawalawe Or Yala National Park, where you'll switch to an open concept safari jeep in order to have the best views. An early Morning or Afternoon start ensures you'll see the animals during one of their most active times of day Morning or Evening. See Leopards, herds of elephants for sure and have fun watching for crocodiles, monkeys, water buffaloes, various endemic birds species and much more. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) of land area and was established on 30 June 1972.

Great. Pick up was spot on time. Polite and good driver. Seamless transition to jeep at park. Cheerful, friendly and informative driver. It took a while to find elephants initially but once we did we had some lively close encounters. Safari went for a good 3.5 hours. Saw everything we wanted to.
