Highlights
Tanzania’s second and the African continents fourth highest mountain towers at an impressive 4566m or 14980ft above the ground just east of the Kilimanjaro region in Arusha National Park. Generally serving as a great warm up (acclimatization) trek for a Kilimanjaro climb, Mt Meru is also a spectacular trek in it’s own right and offers an exciting first day through the park forest (almost like a walking safari) with an armed ranger (shared with other groups) before taking you on the dry alpine zones up to the scree filled peak. Views of Kilimanjaro in the distance are seen on a clear day as well as a fascinating view down into the Meru crater.

You will climb Tanzania's second highest peak at 4566m or 14,980ft) which offers great acclimatisation before a Kilimanjaro climb or a rewarding trek in it's own right.
What's included
INCLUDED
Twice daily health checks with guides and a high-grade medical oximeter
1 first aid kit
1 x transfer from park gates to a Arusha or Moshi based lodge per group
Trained, certified, and experienced English-speaking Mountain guide/s at ANAPA minimum ratios
1 x approx. 100Ltr rubberized hold all bag / packsack
Hand washing station and small personal wash basin at huts
Pre-climb briefing /equipment check with the guide / tour consultant in Arusha or Moshi)
Basic sleeping mattress per person (provided by park)
Luggage storage while on trek
All meals on the mountain and eating utensils, cutlery, bowls, cups etc.
All taxes and VAT applicable
Shared use of Mountain huts (sharing with other hikers)
1 x luggage porter carrying luggage of 12kg per person of personal luggage
An armed park Ranger (provided by the park and shared with other groups trekking on the same day)
1 x transfer from a Arusha or Moshi based lodge to park gates per group
All National Park conservation, park entry, hut and rescue fees as applicable
Trained and experienced personal mountain cook and waiter
Boiled drinking water on trek (from 1st hut onwards)
Shared public toilet facilities at huts
