Osorno Volcano Ascent (For the day) Itinerary Previous meeting (previous day) to check equipment and coordinate the departure The Departure departs at 3:30 am from Pto. Varas to the base of the Osorno Volcano, arriving at the CONAF office at approximately 5:00 am to register. The ascent begins from the CONAF office (1,200 masl), to walk the first section of the route bordering the ski slopes due to volcanic hauling for approximately 2 hours, arriving at the Glacier where the guide will give a technical talk on the use of crampons, ice axes and rope (30 min) to climb the last section 3hr approx. and enjoy the immense summit (2,656 masl) and its privileged 360° view of the Region full of volcanoes, rivers, lakes and forests. After a rest we will begin the descent of approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours to the CONAF office to return to Pto.Varas.
