Highlights
Waiheke Island on foot, with wine at the end of the trail. Your guide meets you off the 9:00am Fullers ferry at Matiatia for a 5-hour walk through native bush, headlands and vineyard country.
Walk Atawhai Whenua Forest and Bird Reserve and Pio Rehutai Reserve, with views across the Hauraki Gulf to Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel Peninsula. Your guide shares Waiheke's wildlife, conservation and Māori history.
Wine tasting at Cable Bay Vineyards and Mudbrick Vineyard, Waiheke's best-known estates, tasting costs included. Picnic lunch in the olive grove above Mudbrick, between tastings: local sandwich, sweet treat and fruit.
4 to 6 km, 2.5 to 3 hours walking. Finishes at Matiatia Ferry Wharf about 3:00pm for an afternoon ferry to Auckland.
