Explore the Sete Cidades volcanic complex, located in São Miguel. Start the trail passing through a green area mixed with rocky soils. Climb to one of the highest points of Sete Cidades, from where you can see the centre of the island and its lakes. Enjoy the vast pastures on the south coast and its paths lined with hydrangeas. Continue through a cryptomeria forest towards the Lagoa das Empadadas. Visit Lagoa do Canário. Walk towards an emblematic viewpoints of São Miguel, the Grota do Inferno viewpoint. Visit the Vista de Rei viewpoint, overlooking the blue and the green lakes, where you can see the abandoned “Monte Palace” hotel.
