First of all, Becs was a wonderful driver and guide. She gave us great information and I always felt safe during the tour. This is a whole day tour. I left my hotel at 650AM and did not return until 930PM. Augusta, the southern most destination of the tour, is a 3 hour drive (if you do not stop). So, there is a lot of time spent riding the bus. I am so glad the bus was a large tourist bus (and not the vans that hold 12 people). There was a lot of room even if the bus was full (and our bus was not full). There is a toilet in the bus. The first stop isn’t until 1030AM. Take that in mind if you plan to join the tour and have not had breakfast. The sites itself were quite nice but we only had about half hour in each place. We did get an hour in town of Margaret River but I felt that could have been a half hour stop as well. Nice relaxing day. Travel time is close to 6 hours for the day — so bring a book, tablet, headphones, if you don’t want to just stare at the scenery. We did stop at a winery and there was free wine tasting.
Tour was very well organised. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and took care of the group very well. Margaret River tour gives you a small taste of the region. Every location duration was roughly 30 minutes. Generally, it is enough if you just want a sample of the place and take some pictures. For us it was more than enough. Highly recommended!
Scenic Margaret river and lighthouse visit. Mammoth cave was interesting. Would be great if there were more wine tasting and vineyard visit though, journey is 2 hours from Perth City
Tour was great! The places covered were amazing
The jetty, lighthouse, and mammoth cave were the main highlights that we are impressed with. On the flip side, we spent too little time at each attraction with not more 30-45 minutes, and more than 10 hours on the coach ride. I guess it can’t be helped, considering that we have to visit that many attractions and picking up many passengers to fill the bus. The tour guide, Luke, is great! Tower of knowledge, very well-organised to keep us on time, and I really appreciate his jokes and humour and information on how various eatery chains started in Western Australia.
The guide Beck was amazing and everything was very well organised. One piece of constructive criticism : 25 mins at Cape Leuwin Lighthouse from leaving the bus to returning to the bus is too short a time. There is no way elderly people can even walk to and from the lighthouse in that time. Overall it felt a bit rushed but the operator did try to package a lot into one day like a sampler in a sense. Again, all went well and I would recommend it as a highlights tour of the area for sure. Thank you again Beck, you were amazing.
