
The Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in southeastern Beijing. It was constructed in the early 15th century during the reign of the Yongle Emperor, who also built the Forbidden City. The temple complex covers an area of 2.73 square kilometers and is surrounded by a vast public park. The main structures within the complex include the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Circular Mound Altar.
