The Bamboo Kingdom China produces and uses so much bamboo (竹子 zhúzi) that the country is sometimes referred to as the Bamboo Kingdom (竹子王国 Zhúzi Wángguó). 40% of all known bamboo species in the world are grown in China, so it’s not surprising that China grows more bamboo than any other country in the world.
