Highlights
Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius are the undisputed protagonists of the 79 AD eruption.
Get to know more about it with this incredible full day experience.
You will visit Pompeii in a small group tour led by an Archaeologist guide who will show you the best highlights of the site like the Forum – the main square of the city –, the main houses and buildings.
Then meet the hiking guide in the afternoon and leave with our minibus for up to 14 people with direction to Mount Vesuvius.
As arrive at Vesuvius entrance first 30 minutes up to the crater there's a steep walking to reach the top.
Hike the volcano and reach the top of it: look inside the still quiescent crater and wonder at the amazing landscape around you and the beautiful panorama overlooking the Bay of Naples.
At the end of the excursion, you will be transported back to Pompeii, where the tour concludes.

The tour is structured in 2 parts - 2 hour tour of Pompeii followed by 3 hour tour/hike up Vesuvius. Having an archaeologist guide us through the Pompeii ruins was a great experience, seeing things from an archaelogist perspective. Mario our guide up Vesuvius was great, his sense of humor and knowledge of the area and more generally places of interest in Italy were very well appreciated by the group. One thing though that should have been communicated upfront at booking is that this is a full day experience, as the description seems to suggest it’s a half day event.
