This is not a sumo show, but a training session by real, active sumo wrestlers.
Sumo is a Japanese national sport. It is very sacred and most powerful. Let's go to see the Sumo training at a stable!
It is a valuable experience to be able to see serious training right in front of you and can feel the breath and heat up close, which you can't feel in a big game. What is happening is we will provide live commentary using our original documents!
You can see it closer than the matches and you will feel the sound of the fight and the passion of the wrestlers.
After training, you can take photos with wrestlers.
Sumo wrestling matches are held far away many times a year. In addition, there are other training camps, so the time I'm in Tokyo is less. Date requests are not accepted.
Participating in this is not easy. It is even more difficult for foreign visitors to Japan. Please join us for this experience!
Itinerary

We will meet at the station and arrive at the sumo stable in 10min on foot. Watch the practice for about an hour and a half to 2hours. This is a sacred national sport, so there are many things to be aware of. Please read carefully. We leave on time. We can't wait for late guests. If you have a cold or infectious disease on the day, please cancel your participation. You cannot eat or drink in the stable. We basically don't talk during the tour. Please set your cell phone to silent mode. You can take photos, please install a silent camera on your smartphone. You might be able to take a photo with wrestlers after the event. Avoid revealing clothing. Children must be 8 years old or older to participate. If these are not followed, you will be asked to go outside temporarily. Few day before, suddenly recruitment of experience participation starts. Please check my calendar page or Instagram @nicotourjapan and don't miss a chance! Regarding meeting time: It says 7:30 but the actual meeting time is 7:45am.

Highly recommend doing this experience….. guide is prompt and clear with communication. Provided a heap of information about Sumo. Got to the training stable well before other tour groups so had a spot with a clear view and extra time watching the training! 🙂 Guide also gave some great Tokyo travel tips. Note the sumo stable is not far from the Skytree so if you’re planning to go there you could do it after this tour.
